JAMES BURTON – STEWART

James has spent the past 10 years at HRR on the Tuesday night
Record Request Show and currently serves as the organisation’s Secretary.

When not on HRR he works as a Sales Executive in the motor industry
and enjoys listening to “anything and everything”. His earliest
musical memories are of listening to the old Light Programme in 1964
and buying Lily the Pink by the Scaffold in ‘68. and he cites Ray Moore,
Tom Browne, Noel Edmonds and Terry Wogan among the broadcasters past
and present whom he particularly admires.

Not Many People Know That ……. James is a TOGG! Fans of Terry Wogan’s
breakfast show on Radio 2 may recall hearing Sir Tel read out the
occasional email from James – who, unlike most contributors actually used
his own name instead of a silly pseudonym! Not only was he in the audience
for the first of Wogan’s live weekend shows in February 2010, he was actually
the first TOGG to have a message read out on that show. Sir Terry said he was
“mad as a box of biscuits” but he was only joking ….. we think! .
